There is a lot of things on my mind today. I'll start with the bad so we can end on something good.

ROBLOX

The platform I knew since 2010 no longer exists. The platform made to "power imagination," the platform that gave kids and new programmers the tools to develop their coding skills and make something that seemed impossible before, is gone. I theorized the platform's downfall began in 2017, but it continues to get worse and worse. Its existence inherently puts people in danger now, and it is infuriating. No longer does it enhance thr users of its platform with the tools for self expression and creativity. Now, it exists solely to exploit the remaining millions of users stuck without viable alternatives or gullible enough to remain on the platform.

David "builderman" Baszucki is another tool in the fascist regime that is America. He showed up to Trump's inauguration in 2025, he donated at LEAST 2.5 million dollars to the destruction and loss of history of the east wing of the White House, just to replace it with a ballroom. He is clearly friendly with fascism. Further proof can be seen in how the platform implemented age-gating via the AI company, Persona. The only reason they have this is to collect and then sell your biometric data, which is made from the photos provided by users in order to be "verified." I have already discussed how this is inherently misogynistic and does nothing to combat predators in a previous post. ROBLOX users must be "age verified" to access simple features such as chat. It is entirely possible this collection of personal biometric data may violate COPPA, but it is unlikely action will be taken against a billion dollar company ran by someone who is buddy-buddy with the pedophile fascist. There has been reports of predators on the platform going as far back as 2009. Specifically, there was a group completely untouched by moderation since 2009 that existed to gather children to exploit. I chalked this up to the platform being so new and rough that this went under the radar, but now I am reconsidering if it was left alone intentionally.

It does not help that ROBLOX is neck-deep into generative AI implementation. They implemented the ability to generate 3d models and meshes with generative AI, on top of generative textures. Now they are experimenting with games entirely created by AI. Considering generative AI is the tool of fascism, looking at how the US utilizes it to make any political opponent seem weak, violent and subhuman, it is not surprising. As it stands, ROBLOX sides with fascists inherently. The company exists to exploit its users one way or another.

It pisses me off how many people, people I know, have given their faces to ROBLOX just for the possibility of being correctly age-gated to properly access chat. Even worse, ROBLOX will actively recheck your age based on how you talk, which is ableist! If one talks about media initially aimed for all audiences or children, it is often grounds to assume the person i question is a child. This is horrible on neurodivergent folks with these interests, and contributes to the infantilization of neurodivergency. Just because someone likes to talk about SpongeBob or Bluey does not make them a toddler that needs protecting. I want to shake the people giving their faces to ROBLOX, but I also realize it is ultimately ROBLOX's fault for creating this situation in the first place. I refuse to give any personal information outside of what is required for account security, but for many ROBLOX offers something nothing else yet can offer. I can't be mad at them for being the victim of a company exploiting its users.

I have wanted to drop ROBLOX entirely for years now, and the chat update has given me an excuse. Thankfully, there is an alternative that beats out ROBLOX in its consumer-friendly nature: Polytoria.

It is rough, it has only four developers, and its userbase exploded starting in February thanks to YouTubers like KreekCraft highlighting the platform. This makes the site and game servers unstable. However, having played it, I see potential. For programming, it plans to move from LUA to LUAU when the engine rewrite is complete. Currently its engine is Unity, but it is switching to Godot for 2.0 and it will be open sourced. This means anyone can contribute to the site, which is massive and already inherently consumer-friendly. ROBLOX takes 75% of creator earnings from anything sold, while Polytoria takes 15% from members by default. This can decrease to 10% upon upgrading to Polytoria Plus, and 5% with Plus Deluxe. This is a massive improvement compared to ROBLOX, as the standard for publishers is to take 25%. There are also plans for developers that use the platform to get paid in real money for their games, although not implemented yet. Better yet, the site has been around since 2019, and technically 2017 if you count its previous brand identity as Bloxtopia. The staff members are all ex-ROBLOX users as well.

Trixie

I have a calico cat named Trixie. My family found her on September 14th, 2014. My brother had named her after he and my step father found her at a work site, somewhat close by to my friend's house. She was young, at most 2 years old and at least 1. She had previously given birth to kittens at my friend's house, and ran back to where she used to reside: an abandoned house, left behind from her previous caretakers. Trixie and I didn't connect right away, but we eventually did and she became my "velcro-kitty." She is clingy, affectionate, and vocal. She matters to me a lot.

For the past two weeks, she has not been eating much. She does this on occasion, as she is a picky eater. Despite having no teeth left, she will sometimes insist on eating dry food. Then, wet food, and back and forth. However, she did not eat much of wet food either. Last week, she was meowing loudly in the litter box, and was using it frequently. The last day that week, she would lay in the litter box. I took her to the vet and gave her gabapentin to ease her stress of the vet. However, because she hasn't eaten, it continued to make her wobbly afterward. We did get confirmation of her issue, however: her kidneys.

Anyone who has cared for cats in their lives know that kidneys are usually what kills them. It's some sort of kidney failure that stops their life. I heard this and immediately feared the worst. However, before and after going to the vet, Trixie started drinking water. She has a will to live. My mom believes she will bounce back, but it will take time. I'm admittedly nervous. Trixie has trouble urinating, because it seems like when she did previously, it hurt. She holds it in fear of the pain so she has ended up accidentally leaking on me and my blankets, but I would rather her pee on me than not at all. She isn't eating much sadly, but is drinking plenty. She has prescribed wet food for her kidneys, so it would be best if she ate... I've been so worried, I have been sleeping on the floor at night so she does not have to stumble jumping up to my bed. We blocked her from hiding under my bed too, so we can access and help her, but that means when she wants to hide, she goes to the corner in my closet and stares sadly at the wall. Thankfully she has been doing that a lot less.

I am hoping she recovers. I'm really nervous. I had a mental breakdown today because she wasn't eating... but, she has been drinking a lot. Plus, apparently injecting fluids as directed by the vet will make one feel full. I hope she eats something or so help me.

DOOM

I've been wanting to try out DOOM lately and figured I could finally try it out. I've been thinking of it after ripping Peppino's sprites from the DOOM 2 mod, Bring Your Own Class, for the Pizza Tower Wiki. It also came to mind after watching clips of Wolfenstein: The New Order and reading a comment saying that Doomguy is the grandfather of B.J. Blazkowicz. Playing DOOM, it feels really good! I'm surprised I like it!!! I never was good at shooter games, but this makes me feel like I am pretty good! I haven't made it far enough yet for comprehensive thoughts, since as of writing I am only beginning the last map of the first episode, but honestly? I think the fact that the game is pretty lenient with your aim makes me feel so much better about shooting. I've almost died a few times, but managed to pull myself through!! I'm excited to see DOOM through.

Closing Thoughts

Every day I am reminded that we are living in the natural evolution of the fascism many thought were born from Nazi Germany. In reality, Hitler took direct inspiration from America in how to oppress the "undesirables," which in America's case, were the people of color. Nazis were inspired by American systemic racism. Modern day fascism takes inspiration from both America and Nazis, and you can really see it with how Trump utilizes Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) as his personal gestapo. They take people, they send them to concentration camps, and kill their victims through neglect and abuse. However, it's not a direct murder, so they can get away with saying "oh we didn't kill them!" When they ARE direct murders, they hope and pray that nobody has the balls to record them. ICE agents do not have body cameras, and are not legally required to have them. This enables them to commit as many crimes as possible. According to CerosTV in his video, I Almost Lost My Life To Ice, when he pissed himself from fear due to the gun to his head, the agents laughed at him. It reminded me all too well of how the Nazis ridicule their enemies, laughing at them, feeling empowered from their fear. They stole from Ceros while accusing him of thievery in the same breath. Considering the murders they commit on camera, these kinds of behaviors off camera is horrifying. Imagine the other things they do off camera. The undocumented behaviors, relying on the survivor's words alone.

Something I've learned is that the Internet is inherently a knowledge-sharing device. While fascist tools like generative AI have impeeded people's immediate trust in evidence and proof of knowledge, the internet easily provides the ability to share real, current events and for that information to spread rapidly. This makes falling for propaganda and lies a lot harder for those who actively use the internet, especially among users who interact with people outside of their primary social circle. If it were not for the internet, I would be clueless on racism, queerness, and the true nature of America. Governments know how powerful the Internet is in education and enabling sympathy in people. Why else would they desperately want to control and survey it? Why else would they implement laws designed to de-anonymize every user online? Not only to link the words of progressive and activist language to the source, but to punish those spreading it. To punish the daring "degenerates" as the Nazis call us for saying everyone deserves basic human rights, to not be abused, to live. Many people think of the Internet negatively, but if it were not for the internet, we would not know the extent of fascism. Consider Nazi Germany: there was no Internet. You had newspapers controlled by the Nazis, you had the news controlled by the Nazis. Yes, there were many Germans unaffected by the Nazis that supported or were neutral in the attrocities committed, especially those who lives in towns and cities near or housing the concentration camps. These people absolutely knew what was happening and had no excuse, as these towns often reeked of burnish flesh and death. However, those who did not live near had purely rumors and the government-ran media to run off of. Video and photography was not as accessible as it is today. Many Jewish people did not believe the rumors, and is why they boarded these trains to their deaths. For example, German Victor Klemperer, then categorized as a Jew despite having converted to a different religion, was only vaguely aware of the attrocities committed against Jewish people. He only got away from death due to being married to an "aryan" woman. As friends and neighbors were deported, the realization of the true nature dawned on them. Much like Trump, over time Hitler became more transparent about his true intentions. Both masked their intentions with improving the economy and bringing back patriotism to the country, only to them slowly introduce their hateful ideas and policies. Hitler only revealed his intention to exterminate the Jewish population in 1939 and 1941. Trump, arguably, was clear from the get go from his first time as president and only got more extreme. He was saying there were good people "on both sides" during his first term, the both sides in question being anti-racists and white supremacists.

The government hates how modernization has allowed for easier documentation of atrocities. ICE agents are terrified upon any civillian pulling out a camera, and I firmly believe if cameras were more accessible during the time of Nazi Germany, the Nazis would have been as well. Trump was lucky to run under plausible deniability during his first run as president. Now, after the murders of peoples such as George Floyd being caught on camera and with footage, people have become a LOT more aware of the violence perpetuated against minorities. Not only that, but the Internet gives accessibility to the voices of minorities with less hesitation compared to that of any person in an official position of power.

Considering the revolt that is still happening in Minnesota, I believe things will get better. Do not doubt the power of fighting back.
