It's no question that I am actively thinking about Shayy when I wrote the title. They cheated on their partner with multiple people, sexually assaulted their partner, used their fans for sexual gratification, including minors. They groomed minors. When it comes to my own experiences, they are nothing direct between us, but I know via the victim of Ryla, a developer of UNDERTALE Yellow, that Shayy was also incredibly dismissive in private of the victim's story. Shayy never shared the victim's story when it became more widespread how leaders in the development team were actively silencing the victim. I also noticed personally how they were vocally anti-harassment, but never spoke up in favor of victims. The only time this truly happened was when a friend of mine was slandered as an abuser, and while they defended my friend, Beethovenus, in the end, they only did this once and never again. Looking back, a lot of these behaviors only served to prop themselves up as the kind ambassador of a community. Any action they took was self-serving. Why else would they never speak up for a victim affected by the development team of UNDERTALE Yellow? It would hurt their pocket. They defended Beethovenus when slander of them being an abuser was spreading, because they were playing Team Switched UNDERSWAP at the time. They never even said anything about Samael's support of Floraverse, with Samael being the creator of So Sorry and Floraverse being, in no misuse of the term, a zoopedo cult. Why bother with that if it doesn't help them? I have only interacted with Shayy twice: when they critiqued my criticism of Deltatraveler, and when I privately gave my condolences for a user promoting harassment against Shayy and Deltatraveler. I feel they only were defending Deltatraveler in hindsight because they were playing it on stream, much like with UNDERTALE Yellow's case.

I recall seeing criticism about Shayy's pictures of themselves where users felt they were sexual, but I felt this was a case of being hypercritical of a queer creator. I myself was uncomfortable with some of them, including the pictures of them in thigh-highs, but I felt this was my own discomfort and nothing else. I was wrong in hindsight, especially considering one day Shayy went from all ages to an 18+ streamer. That is never a good sign. I wish every victim involved well and peace, and I want Shayy to never return to the UNDERTALE and Deltarune community. It is what the victims deserve at the least. It disgusts me to have seen Shayy's private tweets from their mutuals only private Twitter, saying they are now getting therapy. I know from experience that abusers will utilize seeking therapy as a means to downplay their actions and avoid accountability.

With this all in mind, I want to talk about the dangers of having a single "community leader." I've had this label attached to myself in the Pizza Tower fandom, although as a way to harass and defame me. Even if I was called this in good faith, I do not see myself as any community leader. I am simply someone who likes the game a lot. I personally feel having community leaders is dangerous, as it places a blinding level of trust into a single person that is more often than not abused. People often believe everything community leaders say without question, and it sets a dangerous precedent especially when it comes to the harm community leaders can cause. This allows them to abuse their power among people, vulnerable people, without consequence. Any odd behavior gets dismissed as being too critical or being in bad faith. I am not immune to the phenomena of dismissing normally valid criticism as bad faith, if the situation around Shayy is anything to go by. Going forward, I want to at least look into criticism and their origins before dismissing them.

Shayy was a very influential figure in the UNDERTALE and Deltarune fandom spaces. They left large positive impacts on many of my friends, and it angers me Shayy took the power granted to them by fans and abused it. For as anti-harassment as they carried themselves as, their silence on relevant issues that did not directly affect them was noticed by me. I never said anything because at that point, I had dealt with harassment from Floraverse and Punkitt and I did not want to add another source of it. Even if Shayy proclaimed to be anti-harassment, my experiences taught me that any creator with a large following is capable of weaponizing them to silence others. Anyone who was a fan of Shayy knows their fans are passionate, and anyone in the UNDERTALE and Deltarune fandom knows that fans of these games are vicious. It is why I have distanced myself from those spaces, despite those games holding a solid place in my heart.

I know Shayy reads what I say. Perhaps not on my website, but I know they have previously lurked on my own pages back when I was active on Twitter. In the case Shayy is lurking my website: do not come back. You have failed every fan of yours. You claimed to be anti-harassment and a positive beacon for the community, only to abuse your power to get sexual gratification. It does not matter in this context the therapy you receive from this, because you have weaponized your platform to take advantage of others. We may have never known each other personally nor have been mutuals, but we have interacted. You know of me. We share friends. You have hurt them, and for that, it is in your best interest to never return to your platform. Never find yourself in a position of power, as when you were not using it to prop yourself up, you were abusing it or refusing to use it to speak up for victims in our community. You entirely dismissed the victim of Ryla because it did not benefit you. I only found this out once allegations began to spread regarding you, and I wish I knew sooner. You are disgusting and a hypocrite. You serve only yourself, and never to truly help others through suffering. I hope you truly understand the severity of your actions and never come back.

Going forward, I understand how difficult this situation is for many fans and victims of Shayy. It is even harder for those who are transgender or fall under that umbrella, as Shayy is nonbinary. There will be those who point to Shayy and weaponize their gender as a reason for these acts. There will be people dismissing any of these allegations because of the fact Shayy is nonbinary, ignoring the fact Shayy deleted their Bluesky, deactivated their Twitter, actively removed themselves from positions of power a day before any statement was released, and went on private saying they are going to get therapy. There will be folks misgendering them as a result of their actions. These people cannot be given the time of day. It is in everyone's best interest to block people pushing these ideas. Unfortunately, being marginalized does not mean you are incapable of harm. It also does not do anyone good to misgender somebody based on their actions, as this sets a dangerous precedent for any transgender person. If one is seen as bad, then their identity is stripped from them. Excuses for abuse become prevalent in turn. This cannot be entertained. It is easy to keep your pants on around people, regardless if you are hypersexual. I was hypersexual. It is easy to not cheat on your partner. I am polyamorous while at this time, my partner is not. It is not a hard task to respect the people around you and their boundaries.

The year is nearly over. I hope that we can survive until then. Support one another and prop up those hurt by Shayy, please. If this experience has taught anyone anything, do not trust people who pride themselves on being positive and uncontroversial. They are lying.
